A Fun Night

We had a great dinner last night! A little celebration for the baby that is to come (my nephew, who will be the second cutest baby boy in the world). We ate lots of food, relaxed for a minute, took some pics, then we went through Chesley's baby stuff to give them what they needed. I have so much baby stuff! And a lot of the clothes we had were not the right season for Chesley, which is perfect for Morgan. I had about 20 short sleeve tiny sized shirts that Chesley probably did not even wear. And I have a swing and a chair and blankets and swaddlers. So I think Morgan will get plenty of use out of that. And then maybe one day we'll have #2, and I'm sure the swing and chair and blankets and maybe even some of the clothes can be used again.

No, really, seriosly, pink eye again

Chesley has pink eye again. Three times in a row? Really doesn't seem normal to me. And this time, I got it. Yay. I stole some of his eye drops this morning. The bottle is super tiny. Hopefully it will last through Tuesday when I can get some of my own. I could try and find somewhere open today or tomorrow if I think we will run out. I just don't want to pay hundreds of dollars to see a dr just because it's a holiday. My bills from my ER visit a while back are up to around $800!! And still coming in. That is my portion.

I will try to post a happier post later. I have been up since 6 am with a sad little boy. He is sleeping now. I really need to be cleaning up my house from our dinner party last night, which was awesome. More happy thoughts later.

Mom Alone

This morning went very differently than normal. I had to work in the Beaumont Englobal office instead of going to the plant in Port Arthur. Daycare is closer to work, and it wouldn't make sense for me to drive to daycare then back to Beaumont, so Nathan took Chesley to daycare. I got up early and got Chesley ready and saw them off. Then I had to get ready all by myself. No little hands getting into everything while I try to put on a little makeup. No little hands reaching up for me to hold him. No screaming. No drive to daycare. Was it more relaxing than normal? YES! Would I trade my normal morning every day? NO WAY! I love our time together in the mornings and I did miss Boo.

Re-pink eye

Chesley has pink eye again. I called the nurse yesterday and had some eye drops called in for him. The dr I saw last time didn't give us any drops. The pink eye went away, then it came back yesterday. So crazy. So we can't really take him anywhere this weekend. We have missed out on a lot of activities lately. I really hate this whole daycare sick all the time business.

Found!

Boo walked out of the office last night with froggy shoes in hand. Nathan was in there with him, and I asked Nathan where the shoes were. Nathan said he didn't know. So I guess Boo had them stashed somewhere and found them himself.

We were up at 6 am this morning. Boo was just ready to get up and get out of bed. But I still didn't get to work until 8:05 am. It really takes forever for us to get out of the house. I have to eat breakfast before I go. It takes almost an hour to get to work, and with Boo nursing all night, I am starving by the time I get ready, and I can't wait another hour to get to work and eat. Then we're finally in the car at 7 am, and we leave. I take a drink of coffee, and coffee pours all over me. I wasn't far from home, so I went back to get a clean shirt. But I guess a few minutes here and there adds up to 2 hours to get to work!

MIA

Boo's favorite shoes are missing in action. I've looked everywhere, well obviously I haven't or I would have found them. But you know what I mean. Out of the 4 froggy shoes we have, I only have one. And he likes to carry it around and try to put it on. So we will probably go back to Academy and buy another pair of froggy shoes.

Doing better

Boo is doing much better today. He went to daycare. He still has a cough, but he will probably have that for another few days.

Still sick

Poor Boo is still sick. I took him to the dr first thing this morning for walk in hours. I told dr that every time we give him antibiotics, he throws up all the meds and the food. We were giving two different antibiotics. Dr said we can just give one, and so far today, so throw up. It's not fun getting vomited on, and I know it makes Boo miserable. And he is not getting meds, so he is not feeling better. Last night he couged and cried all night and was burning up. I didn't check his temp, but he was super hot. So we didn't take him to daycare today. We may go tomorrow. So I guess I get to pay a week's fee for one day. Part of the deal. I am super tired today.

Not sure what is going on with Boo

I was in the middle of writing a post earlier about how Boo is doing better when he puked on me for the second time today. Once I can write off, but twice? Makes me think something is going on. He wasn't coughing. I'm just thinking it's from the antibiotics upsetting his tummy. He won't eat much at all. So he eats a little, we give him antibiotics, he pukes. I don't know if he is even really getting the antibiotics. I called the dr office, and the nurse said to try to give meds to him in half doses with snacks. But he's not eating! So I'm not sure how it's going to work. Getting puked on is not fun. I just want my baby to get better.

Poor Boo

He is really sick. Cough, congestion, runny nose, double ear infection, and pink eye. Along with zero appetite and waking up all night. We went to the dr this morning and got some medicine, so hopefully he will feel better soon. He had fever of 103 all night. I kept checking it to make sure it didn't get much higher. He was so hot. His fever has been better today. I hope tonight is better too. His poor eyes look so bad. They are super red on the outside and on the whites of his eyes, and they leak yucky mucus and water all day and irritate him.

Happy Mother's Day

Being a mom is the greatest job in the world. I truly enjoy moment I spend with my son. Taking care of him feels like an honor. But it is also truly humbling sometimes. Changing nasty diapers of a future leader of the world? Try thinking of it like that next time. Not that he has to grow up to be a leader of the world. But it is my goal to give him the best childhood that I possibly can. That doesn't mean giving him everything he wants or having lots of money. But he will have lots of love. And hopefully when he grows up he can say that he had a wonderful childhood. I was watching Ruby last week and hearing the ladies talk about their bad childhood memories. My prayer is that Boo does not have any bad childhood memories. I know that tragedies can happen, but barring those, he will NOT have any horrible memories. That is my goal.

More details

Nathan picked up the Corvette on the side of the road from one of our neighbors. He was so excited to have a new project. He had to order a few parts and work on it a little bit to get it working. But we spent way less money fixing it up than what those things cost. And Boo LOVES it. When he is doing something he LOVES, he is very serious. Very little smiling. Like when he is riding on the lawn mower with paw paw. And of course Boo is way too little for the Corvette. His feet don't even come close to the "gas" pedal. So Nathan walks around with the broomstick on the gas to make it go. It is so cute. I'm disappointed that Chesley is sick again. I feel like he just got better. He has a nasty cold again. I guess that's what comes along with daycare. Every single kid in his class has a runny nasty nose. Every single day. It's horrible. I guess Chesley will join the ranks of being sick every day. It's not so terrible during the day. But nights are really bad. Last night we were up for an hour or more around 2 am. And up 10 times other than that. But he seemed somewhat content, just could not sleep. The night before, up all night crying. So while we are happy with daycare in that Chesley is doing well, I am not happy that he is sick all the time. And he has been running fever off and on. Last night even his little feet were hot with fever. So we probably won't get to do any of the fun stuff we had planned for this weekend. We will try to have fun at home, but I know Chesley would enjoy going to Ethan's birthday party and playing with Mya.

Boo's new tricks

Boo has some new tricks.

He says, "NO NO NO NO NO" when he doesn't get his way, shaking his head, screaming.

He has the tinest scrape on his elbow that he likes to look at and say "Owwww." But it's very dramatic. He looks at it, looks at me with a very sad face, and says "oooww" very quietly and seriously. I hope that he didn't twist or injure his arm, but he does say "ow" a lot and look at it. We'll keep an eye on that. I can't help it though, it's so funny. I have to laugh.

He says "di-pee" when I say diaper, but only for disposable diapers, he won't say it for cloth diapers.

A mom and a baby

Nathan has had to work all weekend, leaving a mom and a baby all alone. It has been really nice to be home and just concentrate on Boo, but we do miss daddy. Friday we ran some errands and spent some time with Mimi. Yesterday we went to the grocery store and played and napped and cooked a yummy dinner. Today we will go to church. It has rained off and on and we haven't gotten to play too much outside. On one hand, it's nice to be indoors and for me to be a little lazy, but I know Boo really enjoys playing outside. Right now he is playing with a Hotwheels car or two actually. He really likes to have toys in a pair, one for each hand.
