I could tell you a story...
I could tell you a story about my crazy day.. about my crazy life... about children who get too many presents and have bad behavior. I could tell you about the things that have happened that make me sad. But not today. I'm going to tell you about hope. About what my 7 year old nephew told me yesterday when I asked him what his favorite present was from Christmas. He told me that his favorite present was Jesus being born. I will tell you another story about 2011 years ago. The same God that shaped the universe, the earth, the waters, the plants, animals, and humans in 6 days, came to live with us. Immanuel, God with us. Not above us, over us, in our hearts, but really here with us for 33 years. Yes, God came to live on earth. Not as a king, not a big strong man. I know, it's hard to believe. That God would live with us. But wait. It gets better. He came as a fetus in a young girls womb. He was in her womb 9 months. Then he was born. Born. Out of her womb. A screaming, pink, helpless newborn. He was nursed. He learned to walk. I believe his mind was like any other newborn's mind, not developed. He grew, learned, became a man, like any other boy. And not like any other boy. Perfect. Blameless. God. Son of God. Holy Father. Holy Son. Holy Spirit. Merry Christmas.
